awstats and apache configuration question
 

My apache log files are saved as access_log.1 , access_log.2 etc etc
In the awstats config file how should I set the LogFile variable
I tried "access_log.*" but it doesn't seem to be working

Also when trying to run the update from the web page on awstats I get the following error:

Error: Couldn't open file "/var/lib/awstats/awstats092004.system.tmp.27304" for write: Permission denied

Setup ('/etc/awstats/awstats.system.conf' file, web server or permissions) may be wrong.
Check config file, permissions and AWStats documentation (in 'docs' directory).

Any help is much appreciated.

I'm having the exact same problems with Awstats and my Apache log files. I can get the live web update to work when I change the file persmissions on access_log to 755 but then after a couple minutes, I suspect it's Apache, resets the permissions causing me to get the same error:

My log files also have the same naming convention (access_log, access_log.1, etc..) and can't figure out how to get all of them to load at once either.


I'm using:
Mandrake Linux 10
Apache-AdvancedExtranetServer/2.0.48
Awstats 6.1 (build 1.751)
