Avidemux2 Question

Hi,
I'm a newbie to using Avidemux2 and was wondering about something. I'm trying to do the following. I have an .avi file and want to just change a few frames and remove a few frames. However, I was the exact same quality. Is there any way that I can do this so that Avidemux2 uses the exact same codec and settings as those in the original file? I have the problem of it being either smaller and lower quality, or almost the same quality but bigger. Any ideas? Thanks for your time.
