Automount Shortcuts

Hello I have just installed Fedora Core three ( I have been using Yoper up to now) and I am not liking the fact that no matter what do in my fstab I am unable to prevent the automouted cdroms from making shortcuts to my desktop. I am unable to delete them or do a thing to them. If you can help me out of this I would appreciate it.
