Automobile traffic analysis program?

Does anyone know of an open source GNU/Linux application for analyzing car traffic on city streets? Like, something which can point-out problems in the road configuration, provide statistics, make suggestions, and stuff like that.

Unordered wrt quality, suitability or state of the project:
Simulation of Urban MObility (An open source traffic simulation package): http://sumo.sourceforge.net/,
TRAFVU: http://mctrans.ce.ufl.edu/featured/t...on5/trafvu.htm,
DIGITRAFFIC (dunno if its OSS): http://www.tkk.fi/Units/Transportati...NG/dgtraf.html,
HUTSIM – (dunno if its OSS): http://www.tkk.fi/Units/Transportati...NG/hutsim.html,
Visual Traffic Simulation (project): http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/...ect/index.html
Traffic Simulation (a project): http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/trafficsimulation/
on the lighter side there's games like Simutrans: http://www.simutrans.com/ and Mobility: http://www.mobility-online.de/en/inf...formation.html.

If none of this works for you (which I can imagine) use your favourite searchengine and look for "traffic simulation modelling". Pages about Aimsun, SISTM, Paramics, SimTraffic, VISSIM, CORSIM, NGSIM may include alternatives.

This definitely gets me on the right track. I'm gonna check-out each of those. Thanks a million, unSpawn!!! Oh, and also thanks for the tip about the search terms, as my searches had been futile due to poor search term choices I had made.

Once again, thanks!!! :)

There's an example of LQ at its finest, as well as one for both "How to Ask" & "How to Answer" essays.

I'm sure I've seen many posts of search term suggestions, done a few myself; but I'm not sure that I've ever seen anyone ask for help w/ designing better searches.

That is one to remember & recommend.
