Automatic Multiple-Choice Test Evaluation

Hello

My Institute at the university needs a system to automatically evaluate multiple-choice exams. They want to just give the filled in answer sheets of the students into a scanner and have a tool compute the mark.
Tools like this exist - they are very expensive. Does anyone know if there is an open source alternative or where I would have to look for it

Thanks

Stefan

Perhaps one of these "Google in a Linux frame of mind" hits may help.
