Autoloading a kernel module

I need to load the cdc-acm kernel module for my modem driver to work. I ought to do this manually by typing

Code:

modprobe cdc-acm
every time I startup my Mandrake 10.0 but I would like the system to load it automatically on startup.

Does anyone knows how can I make a kernel module to load by default, not having to do it manually?

Thanks in advance.

If you're using a 2.6 series kernel, add the name of the module you want loaded in /etc/modprobe.preload
If you use a 2.4 series kernel add it instead to /etc/modules
