Question Authenticating users via apache!!

Hi,
I have a lot of password protected webpages. These webpages are for different users. As such it is complicated.
I want to make it a lot more easier, with the help of a database.

I am running RedHat Linux 7.1 with apache. Which database should I use?
Can anyone help me on that!!

regards
Krishna
