audiogalaxy satellite

hi
i just installed linux like a week ago and was looking for a good file sharing network

i really wanted to get on the fasttrack network but i heard kazaa was the only one who made a linux client and they dont support it anymore, and i didnt see anything about it on the webpage

so i went to audiogalaxy which i used on windows and found a linux version they had
i downloaded it and uncompressed it and everything seemed fine

i ran the program and it told me to make a shares.txt file and an account.txt file so i looked at the readme and it said how to set it up, which i did

the problem i am having is i will make the account.txt file with an account that i have (and i can even log in with) but it always says it is an invalid account and then deletes the account.txt file

then it says to go to www.audiogalaxy.com/betatest to get an account, but that website doesnt even exist

anyone have any suggestions? (to get it to work, not suggestions saying i should get on gnutella ;) )

tumnus,

I just setup the AudioGalaxy client this weekend and ran into the same issue. Here's how mine is setup:

- I have the program installed off of my home directory.

- In that directory I created shares.txt and account.txt.

- account.txt contains only the login name and password you use to login on AudioGalaxy (the README says to use the email address, which doesn't work).

The account.txt and shares.txt files need to be in the directory from which you are running the program - at least that seemed to be my problem. Mine have ownership jpweston.users and permissions 644.

You can also run a quick search through the forums and see if anyone has more tips.

Cool!

Glad you got it working. Check out this queueing tool if you get a chance:

I was using it this weekend and it's pretty cool.
