Cool

hi,

an Audigy 2 (internal) should work with the driver emu10k1
myself I have an USB Audigy 2 nx and even that works perfectly
with ALSA built into kernel,

Try #cat /dev/dsp

in console

if you see a response their; your card should work
and it's probably due to the fact that you need to check your volume levels or something like that

for ALSA --> ALSAMIXER (and in X there's a GUI called ALSAMIXERGUI)
for OSS --> aumix (console) or kamix(KDE) etc

if you need the packages for your distrubution google them

I have had an Extigy USB before, perfectly working under OSS
(but that being depreciated...)

I must admit had many troubles myself getting both the USB cards to work,
but eventually they both work fine. Linux Rulez...

If you need more help or more hints, you better supply an output of the modules you've loaded

I know in any way, that there actually IS a sound driver for Audigy 2
the fact is that this doesn't seem to work for an USB version, but fine for any internal...
just get latest version of emu10k1
download it, compile it on your system

and load with modprobe the snd-emu10k1 (anyway, this is different in Debian, so you need to load the modules emu10k1)
no reboot should be nessessary

#lsmod

shows all the modules loaded and in /etc/modules you can change the order in which they load...
make sure no other driver occupies the device, but the emu10k1 etc...

hope this works and good luck
