Attempted GLText modification

I attempted to change the currently installed GLText screensaver in
Code:

Host: Crystal Kernel: 3.19.0-32-generic x86_64 (64 bit gcc: 4.8.2)
          Desktop: Cinnamon 2.8.8 (Gtk 3.10.8~8+qiana)
          Distro: Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa

, using the instructions here. but I fear that I've just messed things up as the computer freezes now every time I wake it up.It shows the text I had wanted to add to the GLText screensaver, but as I said, it bogs down the system greatly doing this. I had wanted to change the screensaver so it would show the system time rather than just the kernel.
I navigated to the folder "/usr/share/applications/screensavers" to find that I have two files named "gl.desktop.save" and "gl.desktop.save.1" as well as the original file named "GLText".I'm pretty sure that I've screwed up something, but I'm not sure how to go forward, as the instructions that I'd followed were how I got to this point. I hope someone knows what to do to fix this, and is willing to share it with me. :( Please?

I'm just saying 'never mind' here. I found why the system was bogging down was because I had eight instances of "GLText" running in the background. As for the extra 'save' text files, I used 'gksudo nemo' and removed them.
All's right as rain now. Thanks for looking anyway. :?
