ATI drivers,reinstall x?, nothing works

oook ive been trying every howto out there cant get the ati drivers installed i used the quide on fedorafaq.org and nothing will work i have a 9800pro and i am completly updated with up2date i want to try reinstalling xorg or installing the newest xorg release (6.8.2)
any information on these things or if u know what i should do please tell me

ah please help me some one ask me sum questions i will give u info i just dont know what info u need also
when i enter fglrxinfo it says
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
display: :0.0 screen: 0
now fedora core 3 dosent even use xfree86 so whats that all about

uncomment the dri section of your xorg.conf file. That should be all you need. Also read the docs for ati drivers.
