I don't blame you for your decision, if you have made up your mind...

Anyway, you can easily get over the noscreens found error if you comment out the BusID in your XF86Config-4 file. However I see you already have commented that out... Have you tried re-running fglrxconfig?

I fixed most of it, I found out what the problem was.

FGLRX 3.2.8 doesn't work on 2.6 kernels pretty much at all....

I decided to install FGLRX 3.7.6 again, even though I know the CPU optimizations were taken out, and tested it. It worked, but the performance was terrible as noted pretty much everywhere.

Then I did some searching and found that FGLRX 3.9.0 just came out, talk about good timing. I installed that and my 3D performance is doing decently (average 50 FPS) in TFC (HL mod) under WineX (my main usage for this card :)), but glxgears is getting very low FPS (50-75 FPS).

I've been battling with these drivers for about 2-3 months now, so it will have do for now, because I'm not messing with these drivers anymore (unless someone comes up with an easy fix for this problem :)). I still think im going to switch back over to NVIDIA eventually. It all depends on what ATI does with future drivers.

, so yes this is VERY good for me right now :)
