athen desktop edition


just trying athene desktop edition...it seems pretty cool...but i cant seem to get it to run properly without X11..i have to open X and then a virtual terminal and then type athene...the problem if i do it directly from a terminal is athene loads up properly but the moment i click any program fromt he athene menu a black/grey screen appears and the comp freezes...help!
