aterm displays strange characters

I've recently installed aterm, and when I try to write some characters like "á ã ö º ª", it displays strange characters.
But it works fine with all the applications, including xterm.
Can u help me please ?
Thanks

That means the font you currently use doesn't support those special characters. Try other fonts using the -fn switch
