apt sources.list

hi,

I'm using FC4 and synaptic. But I can't find good repositories to add to the sources.list file. The only repositories I found are for FC3

Are there some people who are also running FC4 and want to post their sources.list file in here?

thx

Have you seen this?

http://www.xades.com/proj/fedora_repos.html

TranceDude 08-13-2005 12:51 PM

yes i saw that, but i use FC4 not FC3 :(

TranceDude 08-13-2005 01:07 PM

Does anybody knows where to find FC4 repositories for yum & apt?

thx

What about this?

http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/update...g-sources.html

i'm just a beginner, so you just have to replace the 3 of FC3 by 4 of FC4 and it should work right?

thx

There is no FC3 on the page I just gave you. Now, I'm confused. What are you asking?

TranceDude 08-13-2005 01:46 PM

on the first page there wa sFC3
So if i copy these urls and replace the 3 by a 4 will it work then?
Otherwise i dont know where i can find repositories for FC4

What was wrong with the second link I gave you? Off of that, I found this list of mirrors: http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors.html

That's from the official Fedora website. You can't get more up-to-date than that.

As for changing 3 to 4... well, I can't vouch for it, but it won't harm your system, either. Those sources either exist, or they don't. Try it out. If they exist, fine. If not, you'll undoubtedly get an error.

hi

i think you didnt understand my question: i'm looking for repositories for yum and apt, not for mirrors with iso's of FC4

Brian1 08-13-2005 01:58 PM

How about going to those addresses from a web browser and seeing if there is a 4 there.

TranceDude,
Here is an example /etc/apt/sources.list
Code:

# Add any local repositories here.

rpm http://ayo.freshrpms.net/ fedora/linux/4/i386 core updates extras freshrpms
rpm http://apt.sw.be/ dries/fedora/fc4/i386 dries
rpm http://apt.sw.be/ fedora/4/en/i386 dag
