APT remain stuck on [Waiting for headers]

Hi,

I am stuck on a problem from a few days.
I took a look on Google but I did not solve this..

When I run apt-get update, it remains stuck on "[Waiting for headers]". For example:

Code:
sudo apt-get update
Ign file: apt-build InRelease
Ign file: apt-build Release.gpg
Get:1 file: apt-build Release [106 B]
Ign http://ftp.es.debian.org jessie InRelease
Ign file: apt-build/main Translation-en_GB
Ign file: apt-build/main Translation-en
80% [Waiting for headers]
The APT version is 1.0.9.8.3.

Any suggestion to solve this probkem ?

Regards,
S.

Have a look in /var/log/apt. One of the log files in there might tell you something.

I have encountered this occasionally. It appears to result from apt's having trouble reaching one of the servers it's trying to query. In my experience, the issue has usually cleared up after a short wait. In other words, the problem is most likely external to your system.

Question

Uh, there is something strange..
I took a look at the original website here for the repos: https://wiki.debian.org/SourcesList, so I changed the sources.list file according to the examle for Debian 8/Jessie.

Curiously, now remain stuck on 100% ...

Code:
sudo apt-get update
Ign file: apt-build InRelease
Ign file: apt-build Release.gpg
Get:1 file: apt-build Release [106 B]
Ign file: apt-build/main Translation-en_GB
Ign file: apt-build/main Translation-en
Ign http://httpredir.debian.org jessie InRelease
Get:2 http://httpredir.debian.org jessie-updates InRelease [145 kB]
Get:3 http://httpredir.debian.org jessie Release.gpg [2,373 B]
Get:4 http://httpredir.debian.org jessie-updates/main Sources [15.5 kB]
Get:5 http://httpredir.debian.org jessie-updates/main Translation-en [12.6 kB]
Get:6 http://httpredir.debian.org jessie Release [148 kB]
Get:7 http://httpredir.debian.org jessie-updates/main i386 Packages [15.9 kB]
Get:8 http://httpredir.debian.org jessie/main Sources [7,059 kB]
Get:9 http://httpredir.debian.org jessie/main i386 Packages [6,789 kB]

Well, it seems that the security server from the Debian website link

Code:
http://security.debian.org/]
Is not responding.. Perhaps also the others repos from other countries are giving the same problem ?
This is strange..

S

I just ran an update on my Debian box and it proceeded without incident. I'm using US servers, so this would indicate it is not a Debian-wide problem.
