apt-get update hangs at 66%


hello!

just found out about the apt package for red hat and installed the newest version on my almost fresh RH9. problem is when updating, the update process gets the list of packages but hangs at 66% when building the database. furthermore a lot of cputime is used for the process, but nothing happens.

last line is where it hangs, it is german for reading packagelists.

can anyone help?

Edit: My guess about a particular site is not correct.
I was misreading where the problem was.
