Apt-get problem

Heya,
Oki i'm running debian 3.0r1 and i try to get apt-get update to work... this is what i get. I also get the same thing when trying to apt-get anything.

Reading Package List... Error!
E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room.
E: Error occured while processing xpostit (NewVersion1)
E: Problem with Merge List /var/lib/apt/lists/http.us.debian.org_debian_dists_unstable_main_binary-i386_packages
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened

Any ideas how to fix it?
Thank ye

above and beyond all that i have no idea what to do.

It says that it is a bug in apt, that was solved in more recent version, go get the new version of apt in .deb file and install it with dpkg.
