apt-get please help

the man pages say you can edit the /etc/apt/sources.list to add other sites to get updates and installs from. right now the only thing i got in there is this:

# Red Hat Linux 9
rpm http://ayo.freshrpms.net redhat/9/i386 os updates freshrpms
rpm-src http://ayo.freshrpms.net redhat/9/i386 os updates freshrpms

I want to add sourceforge to the list and maybe even RPM search. can someone please tell me what i have to type in there to get it to do this?

thanks in advance,

m

You can't add just any old site... They have to have created a package-list for apt to read to know what's there. If they did that, they should have a page telling you what site / directories to add.

thanks BigNate and ranger_nemo. BigNate thanks a lot for posting your sources list - that will certainly help.
