Application/Utility for usbmodeswitch and wvdial

Is there any particular application which can be used to do the work of usbmodeswitch and wvdial at one go?

P.S. Something other than using shell scripts to automate the tasks using the same.

In Fedora we have Network Manager which I use to tether my Palm Treo to my laptop (Which I now use in place of wvdial). usbmodeswitch I know is used for broadband usb sticks, but, I never had to use it. Then again, you really didn't give us any info about your hardware or what your trying to do. So, I'm only guessing.

pppd, usb, usbserial, usbstorage, wvdial
