Apollon All-In-One-Installer Problem: "Could not open network socket"??

I have been trying to install Apollon for sometime now. The all-in-one installer comes with all the plug-ins(except openNap) and a shell script for "easy" installation. I run the shell script and the installation seems be going fine till it get's to compling apollon. Finally, it errors out saying "Could not open network socket"

Unpacking the applications...
Compiling giFT...

Compiling FastTrack module...

Compiling Gnutella module...
Installing Gnutella module...
Compiling OpenFT module...

Compiling Apollon...
_IceTransOpen: Unable to Parse address none
Session management error: Could not open network socket

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks..

I wasn't expecting this come up again....I posted this a long time ago....

WELL! at the time I was using RH9. Now I'm switching to Gentoo Stage 1 and could care less about getting it to work with RH9....damn hippies cutting support in april.

Don't go Fedora, it's problematic. The up2date utility doesn't work...at all. You have to edit your up2date sources to download your updates/install them, yum(like debian apt-get utility) all your updates or download and get apt-get(which I hear works very well). I'm building some dual-boot computers at work and it's become a bloody hassle updating fedora linux.. If your gonna switch distros go slackware...alot of people around here love it, I might go slack someday too.

i ran into this problem too, and what i did it was to compile each program separatedly. Install script decompresses several directories (gift, giFT-FasTtrack, gift-Gnutella, etc) so it's a matter of
./configure, make and make intall, on each folder, i know is not the point of an all-in one installer, but actually it works and if you find any trouble is easy to realize where it ocurred

i think slack will be my next taste of linux... though eventually i'll taste fedora too... and all the distro's have problems/supporters/other it seems to depend souly on who you talk to... and as far as people in here liking slackware... the majority of the people that come to this forum (although it's a great forum) are tag whores... in that they like "popular" things...mainstream... it's a shame that linux has become another tag and that the different distro's are too... but ... so it goes...

and i'm still working on getting apollon installed the giFT daemon is running properly though... thanks for the help anyways
