Apache2.24-Tomcat6.0.1- JK 1.2.21 how to ??

Hello, not sure if I am posting this thread in the correct place, if not please let me know where to post this type of thread and will move it.

I am new to this... so please be gentle
I am trying to set up Apache/Tomcat using the jk1.2.21 connectors on SUSE linux 10.

I have managed to get Apache, working and Tomcat working without any problems.
I am not sure how to do the connectors part and I cannot find any good material on the web on how to do this.

I have followed the following instructions

1. Download
jakarta-tomcat-connectors-jk1.2.21-src.tar.gz

2. Uncompress it and extract the tar file.

3. cd to
jakarta-tomcat-connectors-jk2-2.0.2-src/jk/native2

4. chmod u+x configure

5. Run configure with:

./configure \
--with-apxs2=<apache-root-directory>/bin/apxs \
--with-tomcat41=<tomcat-root-directory> \
--with-java-home=<java-root-directory> \
--with-jni \
--with-pcre

For example:

./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs \
--with-tomcat41=/home/tomcat \
--with-java-home=/usr/java \
--with-jni \
--with-pcre

6. Run make

7. The two .so files (mod_jk2.so and jkjni.so) will be
in:

jakarta-tomcat-connectors-jk2-2.0.2-src/jk/build/jk2/apache2

8. Copy those to files to
<apache-root-directory>/modules with the
proper permissions.

9. Configure Apache and Tomcat

10. Restart and enjoy

I enter the following
./configure --with-apxs=usr/local/apache2/bin/apx
--with-tomcat=/usr/local/tomcat
--with-java-home=/usr/local/java/jdk1.6.0
--with-jni
and I get the following errors

no apxs given
no apache given
no netscape given
configure: error: Cannot find the WebServer

Does anyone know why i am getting the above errors ?
Do I need to edit the httpd.conf file ? if so what do I edit/enter ?
Do I need netscape ? I am using Konquerer.
Does anyone know of a good reference site for getting this information, i have tried many but none have really helped.

All help greatly appreciated.
thanks

You have several errors in your ./configure command. Since you're using apache2 you should use "--with-apxs2" in your ./configure. Also the path is not correct. Try:
Code:
./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs --other-options
After compiling mod_jk you should follow the instuctions here to configure apache and tomcat to work together.

Regards
