ello

I am running a script called perldesk on Apache 2 on a private lan.

I want to end users to pull up pdesk.cgi located in the cgi-bin when they pull up the main domain.

How would I accomplish this. Detailed directions needed...newbie at Linux. I rec'd some info on another forum about mod_rewrite but was unable to setup. Note, this is the only website on this web server so the easiest method would be appreciated.

Probably the easiest way to do this is to create a standard index.html file that redirects the person to the .cgi script.

The redirect can be done with either a META tag, or with javascript. Both are pretty easy to do, and are well documented many sites on the internet.

The meta redirect uses this format:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="3; url=http://www.coloradocollege.edu/dept/PC/WhatWorks2004/web%20pages/Home.htm">
