apache vs apacha 2

Hello,

When I try to install several new Control Panels or Webmin or such, some of them request to install apache 1.x instead of apache2.

What's the difference?

Why don't those apps support apache2?
(or is it the other way around?)

Kind regards,

Have you had a look at http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/upgrading.html and http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/new_features_2_0.html yet? They cover the differences and the new features in version 2.0 (but not 2.2).

I suspect version 1.x is the default with tools like that because it's the lowest common denominator. They may have modules to support version 2, but since I don't use them...
