Apache question again.......

Ok heres my senario:

I have a server running on a computer wich is serving a protected site.....

I want to completely move my server to another machine wich is in a nother town......wich will require a different ip address......

I have copied all the files and already transfered them to my freinds computer (soon to be the owner of the site).....

he wants me to run a certain part of the site and therefore I have to keep my http server up .....and be able to link to his server and the members of the site have to be able to start at his index page and be able to also browse the directory on my server without logging in and out again.....(I know I could just shh into his server and edit my directory there...but we dont want to telnet or ssh....)
is there a way for me to do this?

It would probably depend on the authentication method you were using. If it is custom written then you could probably find a way to do it.
