apache/php intermitently slow / how to troubleshoot
I am having issues with one of my apache servers. Sometimes, it takes a really long time to load a page. For instance, ssh'd into the machine I do a wget for a page on that machine. It can take up to twelve seconds for the page to load. I have checked the memory and cpu and neither seem to be higher than normal.
The frustrating part is that five minutes later I can check it the same way and it will load instantly.
Can someone help me troubleshoot this? Thanks!
I have determined that it is actually not apache, but the php module that is really slow. I tested this by trying to wget a html page instead of a php page when things were slow. The php page hung for a while but the html page downloaded right away.
Still need help though.
we ended up just restarting apache after php starting giving out the same session id to multiple people. This was allowing people to read other peoples mail. I guess no more need to troubleshoot.
