Apache Installationdirectory
 

I just wonder, where you guys would put the installed files for apache.. (--prefix=)

should I use /usr or /usr/local as the manual says.

it doesnt realy matter as long as you remember where you put it.. Ofcourse you could allways do the config with out the --prefix and let your distro decide what is best for you.. (Dont most have a default for the prefix, and configure sgould adhere to that?)

Well I fixed it.. the problem was that slackware didnt put the correct rights on the datadir.. or I didnt realize he didnt.. well anyway.. I am running the mysql through the Mysql administrators app (I'm such a loser! :-] )
