apache config files deleted!!! HELP!

OK I'm an idiot... and very new to linux.

I'm running mandrake 9.1 trying to get a webserver going using apache (version that came with mandrake 9.1)

I screwed up some apache config files ie /etc/httpd/conf/ so I removed the apache package (using the mandrake control centre) thinking that maybe the configuration files would disapear too.

Nope they stayed. So... what did I do you ask, I deleted the files thinking that they would be recreated when I reinstalled apache, which they were not.

Since then I've been making backups of stuff before I remove anything.

I don't know too many linux commands and haven't been able to find any info that helps me to recreate those deleted files.

Can I remove just httpd and put it back on and will that recreate the files? If not how can I get the files back/get new config files?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

PS ~ you can tell if you did it in commandline by pressing the up arrow key - this will scroll through thel ist of commands you have used recently.
