apache, complex .htaccess control with ip/pass, is this possible?

As a side note to this, I'm actually editing httpd.conf <Directory/> rather than using an .htaccess file, but its contents can be the same (can't they?)

What I would like to do is have a directory on a web server with the following restrictions:

Allow 192.168.0.* without a password
Allow some.customers.ip.here with a groupfile
Allow another.customers.ip.here with a different groupfile (obviously!)
Allow another...customers etc etc
Deny others

It seems fairly simple to do if I only have one customer with:

AuthUserFile /www/test
AuthName "test"
AuthType Basic
Satisfy Any

<Limit GET POST>

order deny,allow
deny from all
allow from 192.168.0
require valid-user

</Limit>

I guess the best way to do this would be this:

AuthUserFile /www/user
AuthGroupFile /www/group
AuthName "test"
AuthType Basic
Satisfy Any

but from there I'm stuck, is it possible to link a user group (require group customer1) to allowing a certain IP, require group customer2 to a second set of IP.

is this possible or are there any other solutions that anyone can see?

Any help would be appreciated,

Steve
