i'm having a strange problem with my apache server installed on redhat linux 7.2
user=apache and group=apache
Now, I have a few Virtual Host path is /var/www/html/abc, /var/www/html/pqr etc etc ....
now if in folder abc I have a file called default.html it WORKS FINE !!!!!
but if I have file called index.html it does not work..the error I get it 403 Forbidden u do not have permission to access /index.html on this server.
Trial Runs Done :
1. Checked the Directory Index and it states to index.html
2. Checked the permissions on the folder and files they are all with apache and I have a different folders in that as well and they are working fine with apache its just that whenever there is a index.html file in a folder I get the error.
3. Tomcat is also configured on the system and when I check the error log its says .... client denied by server configuration: /opt/tomcat/webapps/index.html
now I don't understand how is it hitting the tomcat's index.html page.
Work Around :
If i rename the file in the same folder from index.html to index.htm it works just fine .....
