Apache and php4 question

I just installed Apache and PHP4 by installing the debian packages:

apt-get install apache php4

After install I uncommented the following lines in httpd.conf

LoadModule php4_module /usr/lib/apache/1.3/libphp4.so

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps

*.html files are now available at the localhost, *.php not yet.
When I test php support using the following test.php:

<?php phpinfo(); ?>

I get:

Warning: Failed opening '/var/www/test.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in Unknown on line 0

What did I forget during install.
