Apache acting weird with index pages
I almost have a LAMP server set up the way I want it, the only real issue right now is this small oddity.
The web root is /var/www/html with symlinks to /home/weasel/public_html and so on for each of my users.
When a user has an index.html (defined by the directive DocumentIndex in httpd2.conf), and goes to the server address so...
http://$serverIP/weasel <--- doesn't work, browser says its looking up a page at 127.0.0.1 and doesn't display anything (from another computer on the network)
http://$SERVERIP/weasel/ <-------- note the trailing slash, does work correctly.
I cannot seem to identify any reason why this wouldn't be working. I tried making a dummy directory that wasn't symlinked into the webroot and that didn't work either.
I am running Mandrake 9.2 with the default Apache.
(Apache-AdvancedExtranetServer/2.0.47) <----actual version
If anybody has any ideas on why this doesn't work...please let me know,
thank you all,
