Howdy all,

So, I'm trying to setup apache 2.2.2 with ssl. I did ./configure-make-make install on openssl.0.9.8b, then I did:

./configure --enable-ssl --with-ssl=/usr/local/ssl/ --enable-so

for the apache2.2.2 install.

All seems well and good, but when I try to httpd -l, I can't get a list of installed modules. I get this error for httpd -l

error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

The modules folder for apache2 is empty, and I've tried:
ln -s /usr/local/ssl/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8 libssl.so.0.9.7

to create a symbolic link to the new lib incase the old one was still being referrenced. No go.

Any help would be most apprecated.

I guess you have openssl 0.9.8 installed in /usr/local/ssl. If that's correct, then add:
in /etc/ld.so.conf and run
