aol dialup slackware 10.1 2.4.29

PengAOL doesn't work plain and simple.
Does anyone know of software that will allow me to connect to aol dialup from slackware 10.1?

My modem's drivers are correctly installed, pppsetup was configured and ppp-go was run, the modem dialed out and tried to auth to AOL and I got the message "Access Denied" when the username and password fields were entered over 20 times in pppsetup correctly...

I did a little research and found out AOL uses the p3 protocol (whatever that is) that pengaol supposedly knows how to deal with. I hit the problem from every angle using that pengAOL software and it wouldn't even dial.

If someone could help me ditch microsoft windows (cant connect to the internet on linux) I'll love you more than a fat kid loves cake.

Maybe things have changed but I have read that AOL has some king of windoze script that it runs to login and Linux does not. You may have to get another ISP. There may have been changes but . . . . .

No need calling AOL either. I doubt they support Linux at all.

www.google.com/linux may be able to help. I found these:

http://www-jerry.oit.duke.edu/linux/...lup_howto.html

http://yolinux.com/TUTORIALS/LinuxTutorialAOL.html

http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:AOL_Conne...ble_With_Linux

That last one is what I have read but the others say you can with PengAOL software.

Hope that helps.
