Anyway to Convert RealAudio to Another Format

Is there any way to convert realaudio (.rm) to another format such as .wav or .ogg (preferable)? I know that you can convert to .wav format using vsound, but you need to have realplayer installed. What I would like to know is how some windows players such as UltraPlayer can play .rm files without you having to have RealPlayer installed. I doubt they pay for the code to play .rms as UltraPlayer is for free. Thanks for your time...

just for your infomation, a program called cool audio (i think) was able to read real media files (and therefore was able to save them as wav and therefore as .ogg). This program i downloaded in 1996 so probably not availible but i think that others will probably be able to do the same. It was also a windows program but linux derivatives must be around...

it can be reverse engineered just like any other audio codec so.....don't see why any other audio editing software can't read it.

its sox related and takes some work to make it right.
Another useful thread, not for real audio tho, but audio piping in general;

maybe you can cook something together from this
