what noone wants an almost automatic install of Gnome2.6 ?

like compiling it one by one?

well the details are that the packages (about 50 of them) for Gnome2.6 have to be compiled and installed, also in certain order. So installing it like that from scratch took me lke 2 days. But after i figured out the sequence I created a scipt that does it all automatically. Still have to wait for 5-6 hours but at least you can just run it while you sleep or something.

i cant tell you for sure

but since it is only updating of the modules, and assuming that all your settings are in your home/user .folders then i dont see how it would garble up your settings

yes i would be insterested in something like an RPM for that for my MDK10 and FedoraC1 systems. one for FedoraC2 would be nice too as i plan on moving to FC2 soon as i can find a clean set of ISOs to download and burn.

well its no rpm based

you still have to d/l and unzip all the sorce packages from gnome website
