Anyone have Open Office probs??
 

Hi all,

Installed RH9 including Open Office that came with it. Have had problems with Word sometimes not opening, and Open office sucking up lotsa memory. Downloaded latest version and tried to uninstall old. On unistalling the computer froze and I had to reboot. Then boot up, i could not get the GUI screen. I fixed it as the error I got on trying to strartx was something like "unable to load font "default"". On seraching through these forums, found that a fix was to manually add the font paths to XF86Config file. This seemed to work as now i can logon theough GUI.
I then installed the latest version of Open Office (as well as the required Java component), but now whenever i log on (root or user) in:
1. KDE and launch open office and select new->word (or anything)i get booted out (logged out) and back to the login screen.
2.Gnome, I immediately get booted out and back to the logon screen without starting anything.

I havent modded the Distro as its only a week old.

Any ideas???

I don't have problems like yours, but I don't know how to print envelopes in OpenOffice Writer. It doesnt' understand how to print envelopes even though the steps are very similar to Microsoft Word . Open Office needs to fix this envelope printing feature.
