anyone ever install netatalk on redhat 9

i'm trying to install netatalk on a redhat 9.0 system and i am having problems.

first i install the berkeley db package: db-4.2.52.NC

make realclean
../dist/configure --with-mutex="x86/gcc-assembly"
make
make install

and the package is installed to
/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.2

then i attempt to install netatalk: netatalk-2.0-beta2

./configure --prefix=/usr/local --enable-redhat --with-bdb=/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.2

and i get this error
configure: error: Berkeley DB library required but not found!

any ideas?

I was getting the same problem installing it, so I just installed an RPM of Netatalk and it works fine. It seems like the configure script doesn't know what its talking about :P

Unhappy similar

I was wondering if you could help.

I'm running FC3 and have installed netatalk from the RPM and made changes to the afpd, AppleVolumes.system AppleVolumes.default and netatalk config files and my sharefolder is visible on the Mac. But when I click on the folder there is nothing in it.....

I get an error on the /var/log as below

Nov 16 15:28:06 birutest afpd[3287]: [cnid_open.c:257]: Eefault: cnid_open: DB
HOME mkdir failed for /home/confocal/.AppleDB

Surprisingly it shows the correct folder size..

Please help

Thanks

Ratish
