anyone connect mergeant to mysql?

does anyone know how to connect to a mysql database from mergeant in Debian Stable?
i have everything installed, just dont know what to do now. The docs are a little scarce.
or maybe just point me to some good step-by-step something ?

this seems to cover all the details, http://www.gnome-db.org/docs/mergeant/x19.html looks like a spitting image of Windows ODBC connections. You should be able to add a new connection, choose it as a mysql type etc...
