Any X terminals that support real translucency?

Hey. I've been using rxvt for quite a long time now, but I've decided to try something new for once. I'm wondering if, by any chance, there are any xterm replacements that support "real" (i.e. hardware accelerated) translucent backgrounds yet? I consider pseudo-transparency to be a waste of time and resources, not to mention a bit of an eyesore.

Thanks!

Well, AFAIK real transparency is not possible in X, but there is a very cool project called directfb, that uses hardware acceleration to make all gtk apps transparent, and i mean real transparency! It's very visually appealing, unfortunately, the installation instructions are very scarce and hard to follow. I never had time to try it, but if you do tell me how it goes.
Heres the link to the project:

have fun!
