Any program out there that can be used to open Adobe illustrator files and edit them

Hello I would like to know if there are any linux drawing programs that can open Adobe illustrator (.ai extension) files and can be used to edit them?

I would be content with just being able to resize an drawing that I have saved as an adobe illustrator file.

by the way the files original files were created using Adobe Illustrator CS.

please let me know as soon as possible

I was able to open my AI files (also coming from CS version) with Xara Xtreme. Some of them.

Well I installed Xara extreme

and tried opening several of my files created with Adobe illustrator CS but unfortunately it said that the file type was unknown and it didnt open the files.

Is there anything that you did in order to make the program open the file?
