any movie player to play .dat files?
 
hi ,

i want to view the vcds which contains files with extension .dat.
is there any players available for linux, or is there any pugins for xmms.

please help me

mplayer can view dat files.

but then it's not a case of playing .dat files.. it's a case of play a vcd correcty....

mplayer vcd://1

and *NOT*

mplayer /mnt/cdrom/blah.dat

And if the vcd is really a cd start mplayer with "gmplayer" (with gui that is) and click open, there you can choose for file, location, dvd and vcd as well

If your vcd doesn' t open just correct the path in the preferences. You don' t even have to mount the cd
