Any GUI for using mysql on Linux?
Hi,
We have an LTSP setup for our non-profit and would like to use Drupal to set up an intranet. We have downloaded Drupal and unpacked it to root and have confirmed that mysql service is running. But, lacking CLI skills, we are unable to set up a database to which Drupal can connect . We would appreciate any suggestions for a GUI for creating and managing databases onthe server. Is phpmyadmin a good choice? We are running Fedora Core 2. Thanks Ramdak |
It all depends on what you are looking to do. I run phpmyadmin on my boxes it is easy to use to create users and databases. I use the MySQL Query Analyzer, I think it is called put out by MySQL to just run basic queries. I haven't found anything I enjoy better then phpmyadmin for admin stuff, beside the CLI.

MySQLCC Thats what I've used in the past. There are more but I don't know them off hand.

Thanks for the answers. While the MySQL tool looks fine, we will probably settle for phpmyadmin, since we have used it with our hosting account.
