annoying bash / Konsole behaviour

Hi,

I ust recently switched to Slackware 10.0 using KDE 3.2.3. The KDE xterminal application Konsole (verson 1.3.2) with GNU bash, version 2.05b.0(1) shows some really annoying behaviour. Almost every time that I type a command which as long options (like filenames and such) and the command takes more then one line, things get messed up. The command continues at the beginning of the same line, overwriting my prompt and the beginning of the command. To put it simple: it does a 'carriage return' but no linefeed. I cannot express how incredibly irritating this behaviour is.

The problem does not occur using a virtual terminal so I guess Konsole is to blame but I don't know what I could do to fix it. I hope you can help me,

friendly regards,

Steven

Use another terminal like xterm or aterm, rxvt is another.. plenty to choose from.

I've found in my days using linux to learn to hate KDE's terminal called Konsole and Gnomes terminal called Gnome-Terminal..
