analog recording

hello,
if i can get my soundcard configured properly in redhat 8.0,
i'd like to move forward to trying my hand at recording some vinyl and cassette tapes in to my hard drive for transfer to cd.
can you recommend software for linux that will handle , i guess recording analog as a wav(or linux equivalent)?
thanks in advance.

Glame and Audacity will both do this, as will Krecord under KDE. If you want a whopping collection of excellent audio programs, look at turnkey - http://lulu.esm.rochester.edu/kevine...y/install.html
Also here's a page of excellent audio links, too -

Hope that helps.
