An application that allows you to write in Simplified Chinese from pinyin input?

To all my fellow Chinese out there

My parents used to use HanWJ for Windows to write in simplified Chinese from pinyin.

Of course, that application probably has no direct port to GNU / Linux.

Are there any other programs that allow you to do this?

Check out Smart Common Input Method (SCIM) http://www.freedesktop.org/Software/scim I have used it quite a bit and it works great.
