Please help!

Do you really, really need to install amule? xMule works better, and it's easier to install. If you've got apt-get installed, simply type:

apt-get install xmule

if you don't, download apt-get for Redhat here and follow some of the tutorials. Sticking with Redhat, apt-get and synaptic are going to be your best buds ;)

Good luck!

Thanks , I manage to delete amule!
I tried to reinstall again and i got the same error!
I basically followed the entire procedures from
www.amule.org
from the "HOWTO" link... but i got the same error again!

Very bad :(. Looks like you will need to force some installs. Take a look at this thread:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ighlight=xmule

I've had a problem with that too but I managed to make it to work.

Good luck!

Mega Man X 05-10-2004 11:40 AM

A short description of what I did. I downloaded the following packages from here:

http://www.imoqland.com/rpms/

wxGTK-2.4.0-1.i386.rpm
wxGTK-devel-2.4.0-1.i386.rpm
xmule-1.4.0-1.i386.rpm

Install them in the above order. If you face any dependency error, force the install:

rpm -i xmule-1.4.0-1.i386.rpm --nodeps

hopefully, it will work :)

You have installed synaptic, not xmule, so it's normal that bash error.
Do "apt-get install xmule" or run synaptic (apt-get GUI) and search for xmule

Linux.tar.gz 05-10-2004 10:20 PM

aMule is now more mature than xMule, so i STRONGLY suggest you use aMule.
Installing the libraries can be tricky, so be patient. Or use a non-RPM distro like Slack.
