AMSN & Slackware
ok, i have downloaded AMSN 0.8 just then, and i am having extreme difficulty installing it.
i have Slackware 9, and i think that i installed TCL/TK when installing slack, but i have no way to start the installation process. any help is much appreciated. //alias |
What do you want to know? How to find out if you've installed tcl/tk?
Try : "ls /var/log/packages | grep [program_name]" Or run "pkgtool". If its not installed, search the PACKAGES.TXT file in the slackware install disc for the program to find out where the package is located on the disc, and then install it. |
ok, i checked, and it is installed, but i dont know how to use it.
so i suppose that is my question. //alias |
Ahh yes. AMSN. when you extract the tarball (tar xvzf amsn*tar.gz), all you have to do is cd msn and then do sh amsn or ./msn or wish msn. It may be a good idea to create a link on your desktop to "/where/you/extracted/msn/amsn"..
Hope that helped some, I'm not sure if that was even what you wanted to know lol |
thanks very much, its good now!
i just realised that u had to run ./amsn well, i really have only just installed my first distro recently (like today) so thanks for helping. //alias |
