amd athlon 700mhz rebooting in linux setup program

I was just given an old amd athlon 700mhz computer. It has a cd/dvd-rom drive, 20gig seagate hdd, 128mb ram, and one floppy drive. I am not sure about the NIC, video board, sound card, or the chipset. Alright, heres the problem: When I run the slackware 10.1 or 10.2 install program, it sets up the swap, source, target, and packages ok but it randomly reboots during installation. Has anyone ever had this problem before. It is very confusing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi,
I've not come across this exact problem, but I have seen many systems that won't install correctly for various reasons. Have you tried a distro other than slackware? Also consider the fact that the hardware may be borken in some way. Try googling the model number of you motherboard to see if anyone else has come across similar bugs.
