amarok questions/problems

I have Fedora Core 4 using KDE 3.4.2 and I am trying to instal amarok to play mp3. When I go to the directory the files are in i type in "./configure" and I get this message:

This particular compiler version is blacklisted because it
is known to miscompile KDE. Please use a newer version, or
if that is not yet available, choose an older version.

Please do not report a bug or bother us reporting this
configure error. We know about it, and we introduced
it by intention to avoid untraceable bugs or crashes in KDE.

I have also tried to get noatun to play mp3's by running the yum install kdemultimedia-extra command and I get this:
cannot find a vailid baseurl for repo: updates relased.

Can anyone help me out pleasd? I am a newbie, so please be gentle.

Install compat-gcc-32 and then do
Code:
export CC=gcc32
Then compile amarok. GCC 4.x is currently blacklisted by the KDE project because of some problems it has compiling KDE stuff.

Thanks for the input. I went to http://www.fedorafaq.org/#mp3, that is were I found the yum command. Unless I am missing something there. I entered the command for compat like reddazz has it and it said I need more arguments, so I tried it with "yum" in front of it and it did the same thing as my original post. I am obviously doing something wrong. Any more help would be appreciated.
Thanks a bunch,
David

Ok, I logged on as root using Gnome and installed xmms, hve no clue why this worked when I logged in as root using kde, but I am not knocking it now. I installed fine, but when I tried to play an mp3, I got this nice message saying tha tmp3 support for FC4 was taken away, or something similar and now it will not play them. At least I am making headway.

If playing mp3's using xmms, then you need to install xmms-mp3.

I am such an idiot. I figured out why yum will not work. No internet connection. That solves one problem. I will hunt down the xmms-mp3 options. Thanks for the inoformation. Sorry if I made too much trouble.
